Dolores E. Perks or Dee to her friends was born and raised in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late Leon Carter and Viola Brooks and was born on July 3, 1941. She was educated in the Philadelphia Public School system and achieved her Associate’s Degree from the Community College of Philadelphia. Dolores retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board after serving many years. She was an active member of Universal Missionary Baptist Church where she ushered on Sundays. Dolores was an active grandparent and great grandmother who took joy with her daily interactions with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dolores was spry, active, and knew how to engage people in conversation. She provided advice, life lessons, and assurance to those who sought her advice. Dolores loved to play scrabble, words with friends, card games, and dance. She took joy in travelling and visiting with friends. Dolores had several close friends that she interacted with daily Avis, Joan, Paulette, and Floyd.
Dolores leave to mourn her children: Janet Dallas, Joseph Dallas, Dierdre Dallas, Shelley Perks-White, and Son in Law Jeffrey White. Grand Children: Viola Dallas, David & Meeka Dallas, Danielle Dallas, Fatima Givens, Tarik Graham, Donte Dallas, Tiarra Floyd, and Brianna Fleming. Great grandchildren: Yasir, Paris, Javine, Juwon, Tristian, Darien, Samira, King, Larwrence, Markis, and Norianna. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of relatives and friends.
Dolores made peace with her Lord and Savior and studied her bible daily. Although she may be gone she will not be forgotten.
