Ellis Bradham, JR. Obituary

It was a cold, sunny, winter day in Philadelphia, PA, on Sunday January 28, 1951 when Ellis Bradham, Jr.was born. He is the second child, but first-born son of the late Ellis Bradham, Sr. and Mary Magdalene Wright. His family affectionately and proudly called him "boy".  Ellis was a big guy with a big personality, who enjoyed traveling, cruising, casino hopping, and deep-sea fishing and he was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.  Formally educated in the Philadelphia School System, Ellis graduated in 1968 from Edison High School. After high school, Ellis served in the United States Air Force until 1972. He worked at the Veterans Hospital before becoming a security guard for the state of Pennsylvania, working on Cheyney State University's campus. Shortly thereafter, he began matriculating at Cheyney and graduated in 1977. He eventually became a case worker for the PA Dept. of Welfare and retired after 34 years. Ellis was a Master Mason earning his first and second degrees with the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.

In 1993, he met the love of his life Sheree Mobley when they were coworkers and they were later united in holy matrimony on September 28, 2002. Together they have 8 children and 12 grandchildren.  Ellis was a family man and devoted son who dearly loved his mother and faithfully called her every day. Just like the big, bright sun, Ellis shined with an enormous heart, a huge voice and a big boisterous laugh that warmed the lives of many people, family and friends alike. He had a great sense of humor, an excellent memory and was generous to all who were near and dear to him. There was never a dull moment when Ellis was around. He enjoyed life to its fullest.

In the early morning of Sunday, March 7th, 2021 our Almighty GOD in His infinite, divine, and merciful grace, closed Ellis's eyes forever. From the SUNDAY he was born until the SUNDAY he departed and every day henceforth, Ellis's giant spirit and glorious memories will be cherished by his caring and devoted wife Sheree, loving children Kaya, Dayo (late Ryan), Korey (Nicole), Seyi, Tosin, Seye and Kiki. A son, Ellis "Isaiah" Bradham, preceding him in death; his awesome mother, Mary Magdalene, sisters, Gladys (Joe), Rosemary (Michael), Denise, Diane and the late Marilyn and late Yvonne and brothers, Morris (Vivian) and Larry. 12 grandchildren, sister-in-law, Denyse, brother-in law John (Rondo) and host of loving and grateful nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.

Sorrowfully submitted, The Family
