Geraldine B Jones

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”

Geraldine Erskine Brigerman Jones was one of three children born to the late John James Erskine and Mary Watts Erskine Jones on August 17, 1922 in Boston Massachusetts.

Geraldine also known as Gerri graduated from the Baltimore, Maryland public schools. She received a Bachelors’ Degree in education from Virginia Union University in Richmond Virginia. Gerri continued her education at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She took advanced courses in secondary education where she continued during most of her teaching career.

 She came from a very influential family that included doctors, lawyers, dentists, politicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, business owners and very hard workers. She was always very proud and honored to have come from such a distinguished family.

At a very young age she joined the Calvary Episcopal Church where she remained an active and faithful member until her death (4/26/2021). She was chosen by the priest (Father Logan) to head the newly created Pastor Guild where she remained for many years. Gerri was very active in the Church.

Geraldine became the Bride of John “Johnny” Hubert Brigerman in Philadelphia, PA and to this union two children were born; Zuletta Erskine Brigerman Harriott Holden and Gregory Watts Brigerman of Philadelphia, PA who both preceded her in death. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren; William Harriot, Pamela Holden, Lana Cheryl Brigerman, and Myeson Jamel Brigerman. One Brother Albert L Jones, Sister-In-Law Lucille, one sister Lorraine who also preceded her, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other cousins, special friend for over forty-five years (Prakash) friends, and gym buddies.
