Life Reflections and Tribute To

John Harmon Stevenson, Sr. (101 years)

John was born to George Stevenson and Emma Berry Stevenson on April 15, 1919 and went home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2020. John was the youngest of five children, whom all preceded him in death.

John was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and was educated in the Philadelphia School District.

John was a Word War II veteran in the army, after serving his country for four years, he was honorably discharged.

John met and married the love of his life Yvonne Payne, to this union two children were born. John Harmon-Stevenson, Jr. and Barbara Stevenson-Noble.

John and Yvonne were married sixty-nine years before Yvonne preceded him in death. John worked for the United States Government for over thirty years until his retirement.

John loved reading the newspaper everyday to keep up with current events. John was also an avid reader; he liked to read different novels. He loved watching sports of every kind, especially his hometown teams such as the Eagles & Phillies. John also liked looking at his favorite tv shows, such as the Price is Right, Jeopardy, and Judge Judy just to name a few. He loved listening to music, especially music from his era.

John loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved the Lord and when asked if he knew the Lord he said Yes. He watched spiritual sermons on tv.

John leaves to cherish his memories, his son John Harmon Stevenson, Jr., his daughter Barbara Stevenson-Noble, four grandchildren; Jermaine Stevenson, Andrea Stevenson, Reginald Noble II, and Stefan Noble, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Two special nieces; Emma (Clorice) Hayes, and Bertha (Be-Be) Cobia, special nephew George Stevenson, Sr., a host of nieces and nephews, goddaughter Harrietta Odom, special family friends Gaynell Turner and Marjorie Wilson.

John was truly an inspiration to all who knew him and will be missed by all.

One of Johns' favorite sayings was "Be good to yourself."

To Our Father:
