Phenomenal Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend. Jonathan Henry Williams was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 11, 1964 to Henry Lee Williams and Ellen Lockley Williams. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Known for his many questions, he answered his last one for himself saying, “I am not afraid to die.”
He was baptized at an early age at Christ Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was educated in the Philadelphia school system. Jonathan had many interest and hobbies, he loved food, especially desserts. Mrs. Stewart’s bread pudding was is favorite and ice coffee, listening to the music played on B101 and watching game shows, like the Price is Right. With big dreams of winning millions to buy a dream home for his mom he loved to purchasing PA lottery Scratch-Offs and playing the slot machines. Each summer he traveled to his favorite vacation spot Atlantic City, New Jersey.
“God is good!” is a reframe you would often hear Jonathan say. Jonathan joined the Grace Baptist Church of Germantown under the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. G. Daniel Jones. Under the current pastor the Rev. Dr. J. Henry Buck, Jr. Jonathan is an active member of the Church Beacon, Pioneer 3 Sunday School Adult Class, and Pastor’s Aide Society.
Jonathan has worked at the BakerHostetler Law Firm for 25 years as a Mailroom Clerk. He was recently recognized by BakerHosteler for his 20+ years of service. Jonathan was featured for his accomplishment by Community Integrated Services noting that he was also one of their longest employed participants. Dante, the Business Development Specialist at CIS stated; “Each time I visited Jonathan at Bakerhostetler, it feels like I know a local celebrity, from the ground level security desk to the top floor lunch room everyone knows Jonathan’s name.”
He is proceeded in death by his father Henry Lee Williams. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted mother Ellen Williams, brother Jeffrey Williams, nephews Zarif Wilder and Jabril Williams, (aka “Timmy”), his god mother Mrs. Barbara Bryant special friends Tiandre Richardson and The Lee Family, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
