Louise Hudson was born on August 27, 1941, in Beech Island South Carolina to the late Rosalie and Herman Hill Sr. She was the oldest of her five siblings.
Louise received her formal education in the Philadelphia School System. Later in life she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
On May 10, 1956 she was united in matrimony to her childhood sweetheart, Melvin D. Hudson who preceded her in death. From this union they had six daughters: Carolyn, Melvena, Valerie, Gloria, Beverly, and Janice whom she loved and adored.
Louise was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, affectionately known as "Boo boo" by her great-grandchildren.
Louise was a stay at home mom up until the youngest child entered elementary school. During that time, she worked part-time as a lunch aide at Mary McCleod Bethune School, which later lead to her promotion as cafeteria manager at Kenderton Elementary school. She retired from the Philadelphia School District in 1988. Louise’s love for serving and hosting lead to a second career with Amtrak food service from 1988-1994.
Louise had many hobbies, such as decorating, gardening, and hosting family gatherings. Her favorite holidays were Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She made the holidays for her family joyous and memorable.
She leaves to cherish and embrace her memories: six daughters; Carolyn Moore (Julius Wayne), Melvena Trusty M.S.W.(George), Valerie Evans, Gloria Jenkins (Joseph Sr), Beverly Lee (Cory), and Janice Hudson (close friend Charles); twenty-two grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, two brothers, Herman Hill (Hattie), and Robert Hill (Chris), preceded in death by her two sisters, Barbara Jean Charles, Gertrude Mercer and brother James Hill, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
