Melville Jones, Jr. Obituary

Melville N Jones Jr was born January 10, 1969 to Melville and Marie Jones.

Melville was raised in Philadelphia, PA where he went through the Philadelphia School System. Melville graduated with honors at Dobbins High School. Melville enrolled in the United States Army where he was promoted to staff sergeant in 2003.

Melville was an active veteran until 2021. Melville married Linda Jones in October of 1996. The couple had a loving child, Tatiana Jones in September of 1998. On December 11, 1998 Melville passed the required examinations to join the Philadelphia Police Department. Melville was distinguished through exceptionally meritorious achievement while assigned duty with the C-Support Implementation Force (IFOR), Zagreb, Croatia, Bosnia, Herzegovina. He demonstrated flexibility, talent, and capacity for hard work by filling more than one career specialty in a joint and combined assignment. Sergeant Jones served enthusiastically as a Civil Affairs NCO and Paralegal NCO. Melville’s knowledge of both Civil Affairs and Legal issues greatly assisted in resolution of difficult Customs and Border inspection problems with the Croatian Government. Melville developed a positive and healthy relationship with many people all over the world. Everyone will miss those Ostentatious parties he threw with an abundant amount of food. Melville was very honest, prideful, sarcastic, charismatic, always the life of the party!  We will miss his Morning Motivational Calls. Melville made a huge impact on us all.

Melville will be missed.

He leaves behind his daughter Tatyana, his parents Melville and Marie Jones, three sisters Sherri, Lady, and Ashley Jones, Fiancé Basil El, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends
