Milan Briana Jones was born to Mildred G. Ramos and Alan B. Jones on May 6th, 2004. She is survived by her siblings Candace Stanford, Iesha Jackson, Angel Ramos, III (Linsay), Sheena Jones, Paul H. Armstrong, IV, and Kyle O. Armstrong. She is also survived by her niece and nephews; Donyai, Jamir, Jahsir, Angel, IV, Alex, Semaj, and Cameron.
Milan attended grade school at St. Helena- Incarnation and graduated from Presentation BVM, where she excelled, especially in English. Milan helped tutor other students in her free time. She was awarded several academic scholarships which allowed for Milan to attend Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls.
Milan was an athlete throughout her life starting with track and field from grades 4 through 12. She participated in 100, 200, 4x4 relay races and shot put. Milan also played ice hockey during the debut year for Little Flower. She enjoyed the sport, but didn't love what the helmet did to her hair.
Milan was a member of multiple student groups such as, the Black Student Union, where she helped raise funds for student activities, the treasurer of the Student Government Association (SGA), homeroom representative, the National Honor Society, Community Service Corps and Las Flores.
Milan applied to seven different colleges and was accepted to every one, before finally deciding on Temple University. Her niece and nephews were the reason she wanted to stay close to home. Milan was studying to become a nurse and had aspirations to focus on pediatrics. One of her goals was to gain experience and begin travel nursing.
Milan loved spending time with her niece and nephews. You could always find her cuddled up with them watching TV or playing games. She had the best sense of humor, and loved to make fun of her Mother with her brothers. She never backed down from an impromptu staring contest. Milan was a beautiful, smart, funny, caring, gentle soul who only wished to care for others. She was taken from us too soon and will be missed dearly by everyone she touched.
May she forever rest peacefully in God's loving arms.
