William West was called home to rest with the elders on June 25, 2021 after a brief illness. He was the beloved son of Edward and Alice (nee Smith)West and brother to Robert , Pearl, Joseph, Ronald, and David West. Bill will be greeted by his parents and brothers Robert and Joseph, who entered their rest prior to him. Bill was the beloved husband of Richardine (nee Phillips) for 54 years, Father to his children, Nicole and Brett, and Father in law to Brett’s wife, Joie. He was also the beloved Pop to his grandchildren, Quentin and Edie.
Bill graduated from Thomas Edison High School in January 1959. Following graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force. As an airman, he worked as an Inventory Management Specialist, receiving several recognitions for his work. Bill was honorably discharged from the USAF in November 1963. After his service and attendance in a technical program for electronics, Bill worked for the General Electric Corporation in Philadelphia as a Logistics Project Specialist. He began his career with GE in the late 1960s and retired from GE in the early 1990s.
A celebration of Bill’s life will occur privately. Those wishing to honor Bill’s memory can do so through donations to any of the following organizations that he held dearly in his heart:
