Winniefred Frazer Obituary

Winniefred Frazer, daughter of Esteena Pickens Hemmings and Charles Wesley Frazer was born July 12th, 1933 in Jamaica, West Indies in the Parish of St. Catherine, in a small town named Bottom Jackson District. Winniefred, also known as Mamma by her children, Miss Winnie and Cookie by others and Grandma to her grandchildren and great-grands, was an affectionate, loving and caring person. A country girl at heart, she grew up with her father and stepmother who were farmers. She learned how to care for animals and plant her own crops at a very young age. She attended Sligoville All Age School, but due to growing up on a farm, she had to drop out of school to help tend the farm for the betterment of the family. Although she wasn’t able to pursue a higher level of education, Winniefred was very smart and resourceful.

She raised her children and guided them. She taught them the importance of education, but also the value of knowing how to be resourceful and learning how to farm. Winniefred had ten Children. She left behind eight living children: her six sons, Fitzroy Brown, Donavon Watson, Wayne Watson, Lambert Watson, Richard Watson and Glen Douglas and her two daughters, Jeneta Wright and Barbra Breary. Winniefred has 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was a God-fearing woman that taught her family and those around her to live in peace, be kind to each other, value the importance of family and put God first. She will be missed.

Rest in peace Winniefred. You are loved. And we honor you. Your memory will live on in all of us.
